Red Wagon LLC, a charitable organization managed by Dogfish Head owners Sam and Mariah Calagione, recently donated $30,000 to the Sussex County Land Trust. Land trust board of directors Chair Casey Kenton said the funds will be used to support efforts to build a trailhead for the Lewes-to-Georgetown Trail at the trust’s Stephen P. Hudson Park at the intersection of Route 9 and Coolspring Road. The trust has also formed an exploratory committee to research a pedestrian bridge over Route 9 as part of the trail.

“On behalf of the board of the Sussex County Land Trust, we sincerely appreciate the Calagiones’ generous donation and their commitment to our efforts at Stephen P. Hudson Park and the extension of the trail network along the Lewes-to-Georgetown Trail. These partnerships are so important, and we appreciate the Calagiones’ recognition of our efforts and their support,” Kenton said.
