April 4, 2019

Energy-fueled music and hilarious comedy will be the hallmark of the CAMP Rehoboth Women’s Weekend entertainers coming to Rehoboth for performances Friday and Saturday, April 12 and 13.

Headlining in a concert at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center will be singer/songwriter Ruthie Foster and the outrageous group Betty at 8 p.m., Friday, April 12.

Grammy-nominated Foster has done duets with Bonnie Raitt, played with the Allman Brothers, and recorded six albums; she frequently tours with Olivia Travel.

Betty, a harmonious group comprising Alyson Palmer, and sisters Amy and Elizabeth Ziff, is known for their vibrant musicality, energy and pizzazz. The group members  provided the theme song for and appeared on “The L-Word.” They have been on HBO in “Encyclopedia,” and they starred in and toured in their own Off-Broadway show “Betty Rules.”

Tickets for this double-headliner concert, sponsored by Jenn Harpel of Morgan Stanley, are $40. There will also be tickets sold at the convention center door beginning at 7 p.m. To purchase tickets, go to www.camprehoboth.com

The young duo Mouths of Babes will be on stage at the Atlantic Sands Hotel with concerts at 4 and 7:30 p.m., Saturday, April 13. With more than a dozen albums and over a thousand shows between them, Ty Greenstein and Ingrid Elizabeth came from their respective and successful bands Girlyman and Coyote Grace to team up as Mouths of Babes. They’ve rocked festival main stages, toured with the Indigo Girls, and as a new team distilled the very best of their songwriting, musicianship, and humor into a unique contemporary folk duo. Tickets are $25.

In a one-show-only, late-night performance, comic Karen Williams will be on stage at 9 p.m., April 13, at the Atlantic Sands. Known for her quick repartee, sharp commentary, audience rapport and sheer likability, Williams has been called a comic craft master. Tickets are $25.

Ending the weekend entertainment will be local “sit-down comic” Fay Jacobs with her hilarious show “Still Aging Gracelessly: 50 Shades of Fay,” set for 3 p.m., Sunday, April 14, at CAMP Rehoboth. The show highlights Jacobs’ insistence that along the road to LGBTQ equality, nothing is ever so horrible if it’s worth the story a person can tell. Tickets are $20.
