Cancer clinical trials workshop set Nov. 15

October 30, 2018

Cancer Support Community Delaware in Sussex County will host Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Clinical Trials – a free workshop for people affected by cancer who are interested in learning about clinical trials.

Jaci Fransisco, RN, MSN, OCN, a clinical research nurse at Tunnell Cancer Center, will present this workshop from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, at the Cancer Support Community facility, 18947 John J. Williams Highway, Suite 312, Rehoboth.

Clinical trials have led to major advances in the field of oncology today by validating the benefits of new and improved cancer treatments. This workshop will highlight the importance of research and how clinical trials work. Not every person will be on a clinical trial or needs to be on one, but they should be aware that a clinical trial may be a treatment option.

Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Clinical Trials streamlines crucial resources about clinical trials available to people in treatment for cancer.

Advance registration is preferred, but walk-in attendees are welcome. To register, call 302-645-9150 or contact Kaye at kwebb@cscde.org. Light refreshments will be served.

Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Clinical Trials is made possible through unrestricted educational grants from Pfizer, Astellas, Celgene, Takeda, Novartis, and Genentech.
