Cape moves to 12-4 with just two regular-season games left.
The Vikings outhit the Bucs 7-2.
Dom Mangini, who gave up six runs in two-thirds of an inning in the May 13 loss, was laser-sharp May 14, tossing a seven-inning, two-hit performance.
"This game I felt better than ever," said Mangini. "I've been struggling a little bit lately, but the team had my back. We all would do anything for each other. It feels great to finally compete again with all the boys. My heater was throwing a lot of strikes, my slider was good and I got confidence with my splitter. I got a lot of ground balls with it."
Mangini credits his coaches for helping him through his struggles.
"Coach [Dave] Gordon told me that everyone has my back," Mangini said. "Coach [Seth] Brosius told me that I don't have to be perfect to win, and coach [Ben] Evick gives me the mentality that I am the best every time I step on the field."
Aaden Johnson, Liam Mitchell and Trizton Willey each knocked in a run in the game, with Johnson connecting for a double in the second inning.
Middle infielders Willey and Joe Ruark turned a pair of double plays, while the outfield ran down fly balls to rob the Bucs of extra-base hits.
"This is exactly the response we were looking for," said Evick. "It was a tough one to take the other day with Saint Mark's, especially in the fifth inning. Sometimes innings like that happen in high school baseball. That just let that game get away from us. We know we are a lot better than that. Dom needed this win more than anything. He took the rough inning with Saint Mark's. Today, he came out and had one of the most dominating games I've seen on the mound in a while. Going into the seventh inning, he had thrown just 52 pitches."
Evick gave the defense credit too.
"We made all the plays," he said. "Trizton and Joe have turned more double plays than any team I've ever had. We're really happy with [the result] today. I feel like that's the step we needed to get ready for the tournament."
