Cape boys’ lax wins state title

Vikings top Sallies 12-10 for program’s seventh championship

Cape knocked off perennial powerhouse Salesianum 12-10 June 6 to win the school’s seventh boys’ lacrosse championship and 60th title in all sports in its 50-year history. 

Vikings goals were scored by Jack Dennis with three, Gabe Best with two, Greg Boyce with two, Luke D’Ambrogi with two, Adem Tekmen, Blake Gipko and JP Heid.

The boys’ team had previously won state championships in 1998, 2001, 2002, 2006, 2008 and 2014.

It was a clean sweep for Cape in lacrosse this spring, as the girls won their 11th straight state title May 23.
