Cape district personnel distribute food bank weekend backpacks

Earlier this month, Cape Henlopen School District social workers helped coordinate the Food Bank of Delaware weekend backpack program, which provides food for about 297 elementary students throughout the year.
Food is typically picked up on Thursday mornings and distributed each Friday to students and families in need. District social workers, child nutrition specialists, bus drivers and Harry K Foundation volunteers all help keep the backpack program and the daily grab-and-go meals successful.
