Cape Henlopen Elks Lodge 2540 held its annual Hoop Shoot Jan. 13 at the Sussex Family YMCA in Rehoboth Beach. This is a free-throw competition, best of 25 shots, broken down into three age groups.
Winners in each group advance to the Elks District competition with a possibility of advancing to regional, state and national competitions.
Basketballs were awarded to the age-group winners, and certificates and prizes were awarded to all participants. The Elks provide this event as part of their efforts to serve the youth of the community.
