Cape Gazette golf columnist Fritz Schranck to sign books at Browseabout June 15

June 6, 2018

Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach will host a book signing by Fritz Schranck for his new book, “Hole By Hole: Golf Stories from the Cape Region and Beyond,” from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, June 15.

Schranck writes the weekly golf column for the Cape Gazette, a long-running, popular feature of the newspaper since 1999. He is a member of the Golf Writers’ Association of America.

“Hole By Hole” is a collection of some of the best pieces to appear in his column. Like the column, the book samples a wide variety of golfing topics, featuring dozens of Cape Region golfers as well as members of the national and worldwide golf scene, such as Jack Nicklaus and Dame Laura Davies.

A special section is devoted to the story of how The Rookery Golf Course was designed and created. This was originally a multi-part series in the column as the course took shape and opened for business.

A former deputy attorney general, Schranck retired from the Delaware Department of Justice in 2015 after more than 27 years representing the Department of Transportation.

Browseabout Books is at 133 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach.
