The Cape girls’ lacrosse team moved to 2-0 with a 19-0 thrashing of Indian River March 30 in Dagsboro. The Vikings have outscored their opponents 37-5 in their two contests.

Senior Riley Keen led the powerhouse offensive showing with five goals. Alexi Nowakowski tallied three, while Emily Monigle, Kelly Bragg and Lindsay D’Ambrogi added two each. Carrie Clausius, Maren Buckaloo, Lulu Rishko, Lauryn Head and Molly Mendes each hit the back of the twine once.

Haley Craig helped on two goals while Clausius, Ella Rishko, Monigle and D'Ambrogi each added an assist.

“After our win at Polytech, we really wanted to clean up our stick work and unforced errors going into our Indian River game,” said Cape head coach Lindsey Underwood. “We were able to do that right from the first draw control. The team is starting to see the field better and are molding together on the offensive end.”

The Lady Vikings took 30 shots in the contest while Indian River took four. Cape goalie Destiny Kusen stopped two Indian River shots while Anna Lopez had a save.

Indian River goalies Caylee Schmidt and Allyson Clark made eight and four saves, respectively.

The Lady Vikings will travel to face St. Mary’s in Annapolis, Md., Saturday, April 10, while the Indians will host Lake Forest Wednesday, April 14.
