Cape High holds career fair; next event set Feb. 21

January 30, 2020

The guidance department at Cape Henlopen High School recently hosted a career fair for students interested in entering the workforce or a trade school after high school.

Several local and state organizations set up information tables in the rotunda where they offered resources and answered questions throughout the day.

“We wanted to provide this opportunity for all of our students, whether they are college bound or are more interested in entering the workforce post high school,” said Garnet Rhue, Cape career counselor. “It’s important that our students are aware of all the options available to them, and that they feel comfortable making an informed decision about their future. Holding this career fair was just one of the ways we are able to do that.”

Students were able to visit the tables throughout the day and ask questions of the representatives from each organization.

Attendees included Williamson College of the Trades, Delaware Maritime Education, Culinary Program at the Food Bank of Delaware, Delaware Learning Institute of Cosmetology, Sussex Tech Adult Education, Polytech Adult Education, Delaware Tech Workforce Development and Universal Technical Institute Automotive Program.

Another career fair will be held for students from 8 to 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 21.
