Cape hockey slow rolls past Polytech 4-0

Vikings to play at Dover for Northern Division crown
November 20, 2020

The Bermuda grass green hockey fields at Polytech are pretty to look at but the ball rolls slowly.

A fast turf team like Cape had to push and grind Nov. 19 against the athletic Panthers, who always give the Vikings a run for their money.

A scoreless first quarter was followed by Reagan Ciabattoni scoring at 6:50 in the second quarter off an assist from Sierra Manifold. Then quickly while the Manifold was hot, Sierra sent home a goal at 3:45 off a corner on an assist from Noelle Sabbagh for a 2-0 halftime advantage.

Cape added a pair of assisted goals in the fourth quarter by Lily Ashby (8:39) from Riley Klopp and Ella Rishko (4:40) from Ciabattoni.

Cape improved to 9-1 and is scheduled to play at Dover (8-2) Monday, Nov. 23, to close out the regular season.
