Cape hockey wins at Sussex Central 9-0

Vikings’ depth starting to kick into gear
November 11, 2020

Kelly Bragg stepped away from playing hockey and basketball last season to focus on her favorite sport, lacrosse. Then lacrosse season was canceled.

Kelly, who lives with her stick and lacrosse ball, missed an entire school year of sports without being injured. And that is why she returned to hockey this fall.

On Nov. 10, Kelly climbed the ladder like a roofer and swatted a deflected shot out of midair for a Cape goal. Not many athletes make that play.

Coach Debbie Windett always says, “those lacrosse kids make great field hockey players. They just have great hands.”

Cape unleashed all its weapons at Sussex Central on the way to a 9-0 victory.

Noelle Sabbagh had two goals and four assists in the game. Sam Connors collected two goals while the Vikings got single goals from Reagan Ciabattoni, Grace Wiggins, Bragg,  Casey Schnaup  and Ella  Rishko.

The Vikings will play at Indian River Thursday, Nov. 12.
