Cape seniors prepare for unusual graduation process

June 3, 2020

Cape Henlopen School District created a special process for the 2020 graduating class as they pick up caps and gowns, with specific instructions from Principal Nikki Miller in a video. Miller explained how to drop off school materials and pay outstanding debts, as well as return library books, uniforms, iPads, instruments or textbooks. The staff also asked students to provide a note about future plans that is to be provided to guidance. Students also received goodie bags for good measure.

Students will participate in a drive-thru with family and friends 1:30 to 6 p.m., Monday, June 8, at Hudson Fields. A virtual commencement will begin at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 9; and on Wednesday and Thursday, June 10 and 11, staff will deliver personalized signs and diplomas to each graduate.
