The Cape soccer team welcomed upstate power Tower Hill Aug. 28, and dominted the Hillers on the scoreboard 4-0. 

"We played really well," said Vikings coach Parrick Kilby. "We executed the game plan, everyone played and it was a great team win."

Seth Benjamin scored one goal in each half. Carter Matarazzi had a goal in the second half, while Logan Cortijo scored on a penalty kick in the second half.

"I thought the match went exceptionally well," said Benjamin. "Especially considering it was only our second game back together as a team. We also have some great new players who have already stepped up and made an impact for the team. Without a doubt, I think we are going to make a mark this season with our technical ability, chemistry and work ethic."

The Hillers fell in the semifinals of last year's state tournament, while the Vikings dropped a 2-1 quarterfinal match to Sussex Central. 

The Vikings JV team scored twice in the last five minutes to defeat the Hillers JV squad 3-1. 

"We are getting there this year," said JV coach Partrick O'Leary. "It should be an exciting year for Cape soccer. The JV team made it all the way to the JV state tournament finals last season, losing to Sallies 2-0. We scored 76 goals in the regular season, breaking the record. I believe we can do even better this year. Eight of my JV guys moved up to varsity and play very important roles on this year's squad."

The Vikings open the regular season Tuesday, Sept. 8, at Odessa.
