Cape softball falls to Lake

The Cape softball squad outhit Lake Forest 7-3, but fell to the Spartans 4-1 May 6 in Lewes. The Lady Vikings move to 8-8 on the season.
Cape senior Marissa Frederick struck out 10 Spartans batters. Lake Forest pitchers Payten Moore and Skylar Copio teamed for 10 Ks for the Spartans.
Jay’lyn Slater, Taylor Husbands, Kenna Justice, Morgan Newcomb and Ava Simeone had hits for the Vikings.
Lake Forest had three hits in the contest.
The Vikings return to the home diamond Tuesday, May 11, when they host Padua.
