The Cape Henlopen girls’ volleyball team held its postseason banquet Nov. 24 at Fish On in the Villages of Five Points, Lewes.

The awards brunch opened with a tribute to the seniors from the Cape Gazette’s Dan Cook followed by awards and kudos from junior varsity coach Pam Coupe. Varsity awards and a season roundup were presented by head coach Tyler Coupe. Receiving first-team all-conference honors was Vikings libero Emily Lamb, who went over 250 digs in her junior season. She also was presented with the team MVP Award.

Katie Knarr and Rileigh Wilson received second-team honors, while setter Abbey Derrickson was named honorable mention. Taylor Iacono was presented with the varsity Sportsmanship Award, while Hope Reed received the JV Sportsmanship Award.

This season’s team made it deeper into postseason play than any team before, receiving the eighth seed and advancing to the second round of the DIAA playoffs.
