The Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce recently donated to two local organizations in honor of recently retired President/CEO Carol Everhart.
The Rehoboth Beach Public Library and Southern Delaware Therapeutic Riding each received $250 contributions, with funds raised during Everhart's March retirement celebration. At Everhart's request, the funds were evenly split between the two local organizations, both of which play an important role in serving the coastal Delaware community.
Everhart, who led the chamber for 36 years, expressed her gratitude to those who contributed to both the event and her long career. “There aren't enough words to thank everyone for the support over the past 36 years. From the chamber board of directors, chamber staff, chamber members, political leaders, residential citizens, and especially those fantastic volunteers! The western-theme party on March 10 was amazing, not to mention the opportunity to ride a pig again," said Everhart. "Two quotes come to mind: 'Alone we can do so little, but together we can do so much,' and we did; [and] a western quote that helps sum up the future: 'Saddle up, grab the reins, only use the spurs and whip if needed, and remember – it's the way you ride the trail that counts.' Happy trails!"
The chamber team extends sincere thanks to all who attended the celebration and contributed to these meaningful donations. Everhart’s leadership and commitment to the community have left a lasting impact, and this final gesture reflects her continued dedication to supporting local businesses and organizations.
