Chicks for Charity aid Delaware's veterans

Chicks for Charity hosted a warm and sunny fundraiser on a rainy night in Lewes to benefit the Delaware Veterans Trust Fund.

Chicks for Charity has aided residents of Sussex County beginning with their first dinner in July 2010. The group has helped community resource agencies that aid kids, families, the elderly, abandoned animals and the underserved.

The Sept. 18 dinner included silent and ticket auctions, and a 50/50 that raised $1,628 for the fund that assists Delaware's honorably discharged veterans in financial emergencies.

The Delaware Veterans Trust Fund provides one-time hand-up grants to qualified veterans and has prevented cutoff of utilities, repossessions, evictions, and food insecurity.
