Children’s theatre to perform ‘Wizard of Oz’ in Lewes park Aug. 22
As the 2019 season draws to a close, families can enjoy the plays of the Rehoboth Summer Children’s Theatre indoors and out.
For the third season, RSCT will stage a free performance of “The Wizard of Oz” at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 22, at the gazebo at Lewes Canalfront Park.
The delightful one-hour production is sponsored by the Lee Ann Wilkinson Group and hosted by the Friends of the Lewes Canalfront Park. Rain date/time is 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 23.
“The Wizard of Oz” also rotates on the regular theatre schedule with “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Jungle Book.” Performances are staged at 7 p.m., Tuesdays, and 11 a.m., Wednesdays and Thursdays, at Epworth United Methodist Church, Rehoboth. Two actors play all the characters in the imaginative, fun-filled style that has been the hallmark of the company’s 38 seasons. Tickets to shows at Epworth are $10, and children under 3 are admitted free.
