Chincoteague book author to appear in Rehoboth Aug. 24

August 19, 2019

Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach will host Welsh artist and author Daniel Thomas to sign copies of his book, “A Year on the Tump,” from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24.

"A Year on the Tump" unveils the seasons of life on Chincoteague Island, from the wonder of its natural surroundings to its hearty, down-to-earth people and life in a small community.

Using artistic imagery and humor, making the sights and sounds of the front porch more intriguing than television or the internet, Thomas takes the reader to a place where everyone knows everybody’s name, or at least their business.

Thomas became interested in birds at the age of 11 after spending time with famed British ornithologist Sir Peter Scott. Birds were the subject of his first artworks. Thomas is a self-taught watercolor and pastel artist who was drawn to Chincoteague Island because of its art community, bird life and life by the sea.

Browseabout Books is at 133 Rehoboth Ave., Rehoboth Beach.
