Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park President Stu Schmidt did not hesitate to lend a hand along with other volunteers to make such an important event possible. All proceeds benefit the Richard and Mirth Thatcher Education Fund, which funds school field trips to the state parks for hands-on nature experiences. “We take pride in holding many events throughout the year to not only benefit our community members but the parks as well. None of this would be possible without the hard work and dedication of our volunteers who are committed to shedding light on the hidden treasures Delaware has to offer,” Schmidt said.

The Friends of Cape Henlopen State Park held its annual Chocolate Tasting fundraiser Sept. 8 at the Officer’s Club in the park.
