Christmas Decor surprises Lewes family

December 10, 2018

Christmas Decor surprised the Macki family Dec. 1 in Lewes by decorating their home for the holidays. Nina Macki nominated her children for the Decorated Family Program, a national program that was created by Christmas Decor to thank the nation’s soldiers for their dedication and support by surprising them and decorating their family’s homes free of charge.

Macki is a disabled veteran, and single mother of three children, two who are autistic. They lost their home last January and until November had been homeless.

“I want this for my three beautiful children who have never once complained, when they had every right to do so. My daughter has been on the honor roll; it’s her first year of high school,” Macki said. “The holidays, especially Christmas, have always been decorated to the hilt for my family. It was something that I took tremendous pride in,” she said.

Mike Gray, owner of Christmas Decor, showed up with a team to complete the task before her family party that night.
