Christmas services to shine in the Cape Region

Conley’s Church holiday services start Dec. 19

Conley’s Church announced the Christmas Cantata, Tidings of Joy – A Celtic Christmas Celebration, will be performed during the worship service at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 19. 

The monthly prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 22, at the church on Joyln’s Way. All are invited.

Candlelight Christmas Eve services will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24,  at the church on Jolyn’s Way, and at 10 p.m. at Conley’s Chapel on Robinsonville Road.

Conley’s United Methodist Church is at 33106 Jolyn’s Way, Lewes. Conley’s Chapel is at 22150 Robinsonville Road, Lewes.

Candlelight service at Coolspring Presbyterian Dec. 24

Coolspring Presbyterian Church will celebrate the birth of Jesus and worship God at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24, at its Christmas Eve candlelight service in the recently renovated historic meetinghouse. Pastor Charles Gilmore Jr. will be preaching; the choir will sing. All are welcome! Coolspring Presbyterian Church is located at 28843 Log Cabin Hill Road, Lewes.

Unitarian Universalists to host Christmas Eve service Dec. 24

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will hold A Christmas Eve Service: Choosing My Traditions, at 4:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24, online and in person, with reservations required. To register or learn more, go to uussd.org.

St. Edmond holiday services start Dec. 24

St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church announced its upcoming Christmas and New Year’s services.

Christmas Eve services will be held at 4 p.m. and 12 midnight in the church, at 4 p.m. in the parish hall, and at 4 p.m. at Rehoboth Elementary School, Friday, Dec. 24. Christmas Day services will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 25. A New Year’s Eve service is set for 4 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31. New Year’s Day services will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 1.

St. Edmond is at Laurel Street and King Charles Avenue in Rehoboth Beach.

St. Jude sets holiday services

St. Jude the Apostle Church in Lewes will hold Solemnity of Nativity of Our Lord Christmas Eve masses at 4, 6 and 8 p.m. in the church and at 4:15 and 6:15 p.m. in the parish hall Friday, Dec. 24. Christmas Day services will be held at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 25. Masses will be held at 7, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 26. Solemnity of Mary Mother of God vigil mass is set for 4 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31, and 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 1. Epiphany of the Lord vigil mass is set for 4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 1, and 7, 8:30 and 10:30 a.m., Sunday, Jan. 2. St. Jude the Apostle Church is off Route 1 at Tulip Drive, Five Points, Lewes. St. Paul’s sets Christmas Eve, Christmas Day services

St Paul’s Episcopal Church at Pine and Academy streets in Georgetown will offer its annual Christmas Eve candlelight service at 9 p.m., Friday, Dec. 24, with the Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Kaeton officiating. Special music and traditional carols will be presented by the choir. There will also be a Christmas service at 10 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 26. The public is invited to attend.

Unitarian Universalists to hold online service Dec. 26

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will hold present The Unitarians Gifts to Christmas, a prerecorded online service Sunday, Dec. 26. The service will include a play reading of “What the Dickens: A Christmas Carol” by members of First Unitarian Church of Wilmington, performance of some carols written by Unitarians, and a short homily by the Rev.
