Christy Davis Thomas, 53, daughter of Marlene Davis of Lewes (Plantation East), passed away Thursday, July 2, 2026, after suffering an aortic dissection. She is preceded in death by her father, Martin G. Davis, retired Metropolitan police officer, and her beloved black lab, Shadow, who was faithfully by her side for many years.
Christy was raised and lived in Maryland. Christy had one sister, April Davis of Hughesville, Md. She married Paul Thomas in 2003 and settled in Deale, Md., where they welcomed their only child, Madison, in 2004. Christy always supported her family with a strong work ethic. She worked for nine years for the Department of the Army in the records division, 16 years with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and as a senior judicial criminal court clerk for the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, where she was working when she passed away.
Christy was always smiling. She found joy in everything, but most especially in the love of her life, her 22-year-old daughter, Madison Thomas. Last month, Christy’s family watched her beam with joy as her only child graduated from University of North Carolina, Charlotte, N.C., with a degree in criminal justice.
After 16 days on life support, Christy passed away peacefully Thursday, July 2, 2026. Surrounded by her family’s love and faith, she left this world to be reunited with her father, her beloved dog, Shadow, and in the loving arms of God.
Christy will be missed by everyone she touched. She will be in our hearts forever.
