Cindy Green files for Sussex County Council

Serving as register of wills for 10 years, she is now running for District 2 seat
July 6, 2020

Lifelong Greenwood resident and Republican Cindy Green is announcing her bid for the District 2 Sussex County Council seat held by Republican Sam Wilson, who has served since 2008. Green has served as the Sussex County Register of Wills for 10 years.

As head of the Register of Wills Office, she led an effort to modernize the filing and storing of wills, and to maintain local control of the office. The carrying out of these campaign promises was met with many obstacles and opposition, she said.

“The office is now fully equipped with exceptional personnel, updated electronic filing, and the safe storage and keeping of your current will,” she said.

As she announced her filing, Green said, “Our citizens deserve protection from county, state and federal bureaucrats. Sussex County Council needs someone who stands for local control of land and business development, opposition to fees and tax increases, and improved electronic access and transparency.”

Wilson has not announced his intentions to seek re-election.

District 2 includes northwestern and central Sussex County, including the communities and areas near Ellendale, Georgetown, Greenwood, Lincoln, Milford and Millsboro.
