Cinema Art Theater to present ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ Dec. 5-6

December 1, 2022

The Rehoboth Beach Film Society’s Cinema Art Theater will present the National Theatre Live broadcast of “Much Ado About Nothing” with Katherine Parkinson of “The IT Crowd” and John Heffernan of “Dracula” leading the cast in Shakespeare’s romcom of sun, sea and mistaken identity.

The legendary family-run Hotel Messina on the Italian Riviera has been visited by artists, celebrities and royalty, but when the owner’s daughter weds a dashing young soldier, not all guests are in the mood for love. This classic tale features a string of scandalous deceptions that surrounds not only the young couple, but also the adamantly single Beatrice and Benedick.

Following his award-winning productions of “Romeo & Juliet,” “Twelfth Night” and “Antony and Cleopatra,” director Simon Godwin returns with this irresistible comedy, broadcast live from the National Theatre stage.

Screening time are 1 p.m., Monday, Dec. 5, and 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 6. Admission is $9 for members, $11.50 for general audiences and $5 for students. Purchase advance tickets at rehobothfilm.com or at the Cinema Art Theater box office in Lewes beginning 30 minutes prior to the screening.
