Cinema by the Surf to present 'Happy Feet 2' Aug. 16
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society and the City of Rehoboth Beach continue their seventh year of Cinema by the Surf, a series of free family movies, with the irresistible penguin saga “Happy Feet 2” on Thursday, Aug. 16, starting at dusk (8:15-8:30 p.m.) at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand.
The animated comedy sequel to the Academy Award-winning smash hit “Happy Feet” returns audiences to the magnificent landscape of Antarctica. The world’s most famous tap-dancing penguin, Mumble, and the love of his life, Gloria, now have a son of their own, Erik. Erik is reluctant to dance and struggles to find his own talent in the emperor penguin world. Things get much worse as the world is shaken by powerful forces which are threatening the penguin nation. Erik learns of his father’s courage and leadership as Mumble brings together the penguin nations and their allies in an attempt to put things right. The musical hit once again features the voices of Elijah Wood (Mumble) and pop star Pink (Gloria) along with Robin Williams in a dual role, and Brad Pitt and Matt Damon as the hilariously scheming Krill brothers. Kidzworld.com calls “Happy Feet 2” “a fun musical romp with a great environmental message and amazing animation featuring some of the animal kingdom’s most lovable arctic fowl.”
This event is free to the public. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, go to www.rehobothfilm.com or www.rehobothbandstand.com.
