On Sept. 14, Clear Space Theatre Company hosted Bow Tie and Barefoot, an event commemorating 15 years of providing theater and arts education in southern Delaware. On behalf of the Clear Space Board of Directors, I want to take an opportunity to thank several key people who helped make Bow Tie and Barefoot possible.
We are extremely grateful to our community for having embraced and supported our organization’s mission to educate and inspire audiences, artists and students.
First, to the multiple businesses and individuals who created one-of-a-kind centerpieces for our 20 tables. Each table had a unique centerpiece donated by the business and given as a door prize to a guest.
Many local businesses contributed to our silent auction, including: Fins Ale House, Big Fish Grill, Blue Moon, Frank & Louie’s, The Pines, Rehoboth Foodie, Meineke and The Elegant Plate. A special thank you to Kings Creek Country Club for the excellent dinner and service during the evening.
We would also like to give special thanks to the Cape Gazette for their coverage of this event, and for their ongoing collaboration throughout the year. We encourage you to patronize these sponsors and thank them for helping to support the arts in Rehoboth Beach!
Our Gala Committee, headed by Judy Rayner, did an extraordinary job in organizing the evening’s event that included a cocktail hour with music from Nancy Curry and a sit-down dinner. A performance previewing our 2020 season featuring members of our acting company, arranged by Clear Space Artistic Director David Button and accompanied by Musical Director Melanie Bradley on keyboard capped the evening’s program.
We congratulate this year’s Spotlight Award winners: Alice and Alfred Willis (Advocacy), Carolyn and Jerry Strum (Volunteer), and Eddy Seger (Artistic Endeavors).
Lastly, we’d like to thank our loyal patrons and donors. Your support and commitment to the arts in Sussex County is helping to shape our cultural landscape for generations to enjoy, and for that we are inspired and grateful.
