Clear Space Theatre donates to Fund for Women

April 13, 2019

Clear Space Theatre presented “The Women” March 2 and 3, as a benefit for the Fund for Women and the Clear Space Theatre Scholarship Fund.

“The Women” was written by Clare Booth Luce in the 1930s, yet it remains relevant today. The 25 female cast members portrayed women who face adversity, not necessarily from their relationships or careers, but from other women’s gossip.

This is the fifth year Clear Space Theatre has held a benefit production for another local nonprofit. A portion of the proceeds from “The Women,” totaling $4,250, will go toward the mission of the Fund for Women. The remaining proceeds go toward the Clear Space Theatre Scholarship Fund.

Since 1993, the Fund for Women has been making a difference in the lives of women and girls in Delaware. As a founder, a woman can make a great impact through the power of collective giving.

Founders pledge to give $1,000, either in a single gift or over five years, to the Fund for Women. From the endowed fund, which now exceeds $3 million, the Fund for Women awards approximately $125,000 each year to causes benefiting girls and women in Delaware. Since 1994, the fund has granted more than $2.3 million to nonprofits.

Clear Space Theatre in Rehoboth Beach is a nonprofit, regional theatre serving residents and visitors to Southern Delaware since 2004. Clear Space performs 13 shows during its season, and has year-round performing arts education classes for children and adults.
