On Sept. 11, Clear Space Theatre Company hosted Bow Tie and Barefoot, an event commemorating 17 years of providing theater and arts education in southern Delaware. On behalf of the Clear Space Board of Directors, I want to take an opportunity to thank several key sponsors and friends who helped make Bow Tie and Barefoot possible. We are extremely grateful to our community for having embraced and supported our organization’s mission to educate and inspire audiences, artists and students.
To our silent auction donors who so generously provided high quality items for our event, thank you. Autumn Schneider, Lefty’s Ally and Eats, Tanger Outlets, The Elegant Plate, Ginger, Aqua, The Pines, Mid-Atlantic Symphony Orchestra, Paul Cullen, Mariachi, Joe Ignatowski, The Buzzed Word, Rick Tedrick, and Sharon Strine. We encourage you to patronize these sponsors and thank them for helping to support the arts in Rehoboth Beach!
Our development committee, headed by Judy Rayner, as well as our Director of Development and Outreach Stephanie Hudson Whitcomb and assisted by volunteers Jay Allen, John Pitchford, Alice Willis, and Joelle Genevish, did an extraordinary job in organizing the evening’s event at Kings Creek Country Club. A performance previewing our 2022 season featuring members of our acting company, arranged by Clear Space Artistic Director David Button and accompanied by musical director Melanie Bradley on keyboard capped the evening’s program.
We congratulate this year’s Spotlight Award winners: Paul Weagraff (Advocacy), Jeff and Ida Rowe (Volunteer), and Lorraine Steinhoff Leavel (Artistic Endeavors). Clear Space created a new Spotlight award this year, Board Service, and it went to Carl Schloegel.
Lastly, we’d like to thank our loyal patrons and donors. Your support and commitment to the arts in Sussex County is helping to shape our cultural landscape for generations to enjoy, and for that we are inspired and grateful.
