Clifford T. ‘Cliff’ Early, retired lab technician

Clifford T. “Cliff” Early, 93, of Millsboro, formerly of Newark, passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2021.

Born in Plymouth, Pa., May 29, 1928, Cliff was a son of the late Joseph and Josephine (Carpenter) Early. He worked as a lab technician for DuPont for 30 years, retiring in 1986. After his retirement, he and his wife split time between his home in Millsboro and Hollywood, Fla. Strong in his faith, Cliff was a member of Mary, Mother of Peace Parish in Millsboro, and was formerly a member of Holy Family Parish. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, crabbing, rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles, and enjoying a cold beer with family and friends.  He especially looked forward to visits with his children, grandchildren, and recently with his great-grandchildren.   

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine; and daughter, Diane D. Moore. Cliff is survived by his children, Kathleen A. Royle (Kendall) of Georgetown and Clifford T. Early Jr. (Bridgette) of Millsboro; son-in-law, Donald Moore of Newark; seven grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10:30 until 11:30 a.m., Monday, Oct. 25, at Holy Family R.C. Church, 15 Gender Road, Newark, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11:30 a.m. Face coverings will be required for all those in attendance not immunized with the COVID-19 vaccine per the governor of Delaware. Interment will follow in All Saints’ Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Cliff’s memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
