Coastal Camera Club reschedules event to Aug. 29

The Coastal Camera Club has rescheduled its annual Day of Photography Inspiration and Education seminar and competitions to 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 29, at Lewes Presbyterian Church, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes.

Originally planned for March 28, the event is for photographers of all levels who are interested in learning more about their craft from an expert.

This year's morning session presenter will be Nikhil Bahl, a full-time professional photographer, author, educator, workshop instructor and environmentalist residing in the Washington, D.C. area. Drawing inspiration from nature, Bahl adopts novel approaches and seeks meaningful interpretations to create photographs that transcend the commonplace, reflect deeper insights and convey an enchantment of the subject's beauty.

There will be a keynote program in the morning and a lunch break from 12:30 to 2 p.m., followed by the Small Print and Best of Delaware print competitions.

Tables will be provided for those who bring lunch. Several restaurants are within walking distance.

There will be an all-day flea market with photography equipment and related materials available for purchase.

The Best of Delaware Photographic Society of America Print Competition is open to society members living in Delaware. Entrants can bring up to three large prints (max 16-by-20) to vie for the Erik Kissa Memorial Award, a PSA Gold medal. Entries check-in will be from 9 to 9:30 a.m. and from 1:30 to 2 p.m. To register, go to psa-photo.org/index.php?best-of-delaware.

The Photographic Society of America Small Print Competition is open to all. Members and nonmembers are invited to enter small prints (max 8.5-by-12) to be judged that day by the same jury, but submitted no later than Monday, March 23.
