Coastal Concerts recently announced Dr. Fred Geiersbach has joined its board of directors.

An accomplished classical musician with more than 30 years of experience as an artist, guest conductor, clinician, competition organizer and judge, Geiersbach has served as director of instrumental music at St. Andrew's School in Middletown since 2001.

He earned master's and doctoral degrees in music and music education from Teachers College at Columbia University and has built a reputation for developing young musicians while maintaining an active performing and guest conducting career throughout the Mid-Atlantic.

A trained flutist and accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Geiersbach is widely respected for his depth of musical knowledge and commitment to arts education.

Coastal Concerts Board President Lee April said Geiersbach's appointment reflects the organization's continued investment in artistic leadership.

"We are delighted to welcome Fred to the board," April said. "His lifelong dedication to music, education and excellence will be a tremendous asset as Coastal Concerts continues to grow. His perspective will help us strengthen both our concert programming and our commitment to inspiring the next generation of musicians."
