Lewes couple Sam and Lori Solovey recently formed Art After Dark, an artistic endeavor aiming to host events and raise funds to support local nonprofits. 

Because Lori volunteers with Speak Out Against Hate, the two selected it as the beneficiary of its inaugural event spotlighting local comics.

Having recently returned to the stand-up circuit, Sam opened the show with a 20-minute set, followed by veteran comedians Lon Keiffer of Seaford and Missy Hall of Wilmington.

With more than 100 attendees, there were nonstop laughs throughout the 90-minute show, and everyone left with a smile.

With half of all ticket sales donated to SOAH, the event generated $820 for the organization's mission to reduce hate and build understanding across Sussex County.
