Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Fest canceled

After having been unable to obtain the required permit, the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce staff and board of directors are disappointed to announce the Bethany Beach Boardwalk Arts Festival has been postponed until Saturday, Sept. 11, 2021. Organizers offer their thanks, and acknowledge the patience and support exhibited by sponsors and artists during the planning process. They understand it has been a difficult year for everyone, especially small business owners including full-time artists. As the fall moves forward, the chamber will continue to plan safe outdoor gatherings.

Hebron MP Church cancels Homecoming

Hebron Methodist Protestant Church, 18282 Seashore Highway, Georgetown, has canceled its Homecoming Service set for Sunday, Sept. 27, due to COVID-19 restrictions. For more information, go to www.hebronmpchurch.org.

UUSD online service set Sept. 20

The Unitarian Universalists of Southern Delaware will hold an online service at 10 a.m., Sunday, Sept. 20. The topic is A Heart Made Whole. The service can be viewed on UUSD's Facebook page; for more information, go to www.uussd.org.

Estate planning after death of a spouse program set Sept. 23

Estate Planning Following the Death of a Spouse, a free webinar, will be offered from 5 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 23.

This class covers legal planning for one’s future in the wake of a spouse’s death. Proper planning and adjustments to financial life and estate planning documents must be made after the death of a spouse. Instructor Deirdre O’Shea McCartney, Esq., breaks down a complex subject to simple layman’s terms.

This class focuses on what documents people should have, what each document is and how it works. Everyone should be aware of what type of estate planning documents they need and be able to consult with their attorney and financial advisor on a plan for their future.

Celebration of Local Artists online Sept. 24

A Celebration of Local Artists will be presented at 7 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 24, via Zoom. All are invited to an online performance with local visual art videos, poetry and music hosted by Guillermo Silveira in partnership with Lewes Public Library. Rehoboth library Friends group to meet Oct. 6

The Friends of the Rehoboth Beach Public Library group will host its annual meeting virtually starting at 9 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6. The meeting will include annual reviews from the Friends and the library director, as well as election of board members.
