Community Resource Center says thanks for Stamping Out Hunger

May 16, 2019

We wish to extend our appreciation to all local friends and neighbors for donating nonperishable food to the Post Office Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive May 11, sponsored by the National Association of Letter Carriers. The Food Rescue program at the Community Resource Center was one of the recipients of this great charitable initiative again this year.

Your generosity will enable us to continue to give to those in need in our community.

Our Food Rescue program is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. to give food to anyone in need and to accept food donations.

We also would like to applaud the ongoing support of our churches and local residents who support us all year long.  Our weekly donations from Giant, Fresh Market, Wawa, Pizza Hut and other local stores make it possible for us to do this all year. We serve 20-30 families every day.  Thanks to your support we give away just over 2,000 bags of food each month.

Hunger and food insecurity really do exist in our area, so we thank you for your support! A big “thank you” to John Workman from the Rehoboth Beach Post Office who works so hard organizing this great event every year. Thanks also to all the volunteers at our Food Rescue who help every week working tirelessly to make our Food Rescue program a big success.
