Conley’s mission is admirable

November 30, 2021

Although I am not a member of the Conley’s United Methodist Church in Lewes, I am extremely proud of the church’s dedication to the poor as the church is considering an inspiring project for the unhoused.   When asked, they said on their website: “If we would be willing to consider a proposal to host such a site specifically for families in need, of course we would.

“Helping those in need is not an incidental part of our faith, it is central to our call as followers of Jesus, it is an integral part of the mission of the church, it is an essential act of Christian worship.”

What a powerful statement of their principles, of their love! We should all support them as they seek to provide a temporary home to those who, like baby Jesus in Bethlehem, find themselves without adequate shelter.
