Coons canvasses in Lewes for Dave Baker

U.S. Sen. Chris Coons, right, canvassed downtown Lewes recently with Dave Baker in support of Baker’s candidacy for the Delaware Senate 6th District against opponent Sen. Ernie Lopez. They started at the Lewes Little League Park, accompanied by 13 Baker campaign volunteers as they walked to meet Lewes voters in advance of the Nov. 6 election.   

Baker talked to voters about his commitment to infrastructure investment, clean water, open space, middle-class tax breaks and the regional doctor shortage.

Baker and Coons have known each other since Coons was county executive of New Castle County and Baker was county administrator of Sussex County. They visited almost 200 Lewes homes before heading for the Sussex Democratic Jamboree in Cape Henlopen State Park.
