Couple faces felony theft charges

A Millsboro couple sought by police for area thefts were charged Oct. 20 after they were found in a Rehoboth Beach-area hotel.

Police say Iris R. Holland, 42, and Jason Kerr, 47, had been involved with seven felony theft incidents in Sussex County from March to October. On Oct. 20, police received information through Crime Stoppers that the couple was staying at the AmericInn Hotel, Rehoboth Beach, said Master Cpl. Heather Pepper of the Delaware State Police. They were taken into custody without incident and taken to Troop 7 where they were charged with seven counts of theft $1,500 or greater and victim is 62 or older, and seven counts of second-degree conspiracy. Kerr was also charged with three counts each of selling stolen property, theft by false pretense, and falsifying business records.

Holland was arraigned and committed to Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in default of $14,000 secured bond; Kerr was arraigned and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $23,000 secured bond.
