Crooked Hammock to host 302 Beer Drinkers’ Choice Awards April 2

The Crooked Hammock Brewery team announced the 6th annual 302 Beer Drinkers’ Choice Awards will be held from 12 to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 2, at its flagship Lewes brewpub, 36707 Crooked Hammock Way, Lewes.

For the advance ticket cost of $55, guests (age 21+ only) will be treated to samples from more than 30 Delaware breweries, as Crooked Hammock carries on a years-long tradition of being the first and only festival to feature every brewery in the First State. Hijinks are highly encouraged, especially on social media. Look out for the trending hashtag #302BDCA. Fun and camaraderie will rule the day.

Known for its sudsy silliness and refined debauchery, the 302 Beer Drinkers’ Choice Awards will double down in 2023 on its recurring theme of bringing Delaware’s tight-knit beer community together. Every single brewery in the state is expected to attend. Costumes are strongly encouraged, and awards will be doled out for Fan Favorite Beer, Most Unique Beer, Best Brewery Costume, Best Judge Costume, Best Drinkers Costume and Coolest Booth Set Up.

Wilmington Brew Works walked away with the ceremonial championship wrestling belt in 2022, along with ultimate bragging rights for the second year in a row for its Luau Punch, a milkshake-style sour beer fermented with tropical fruits.

“Drinking in the backyard with friends is what inspired us to create Crooked Hammock, and we wanted to take those never-ending cookout vibes to the next level,” said owner Rich Garrahan. “This one-of-a-kind festival has always been about showcasing all that the 302 has to offer. That’s why we invite the entire state of Delaware. We’re not rebuilding the wheel. We’re just giving it an incredibly fun hill to roll down.”
