Cub Scout Pack 1 thanks community

October 15, 2019

The Cub Scouts, leaders, and parents of Cub Scout Pack 1, Lewes, would like to acknowledge and thank several community businesses for their continued support of Pack 1.

For many years, Pack 1 has relied on BSA popcorn sales for its primary source of funding. Year after year, the scouts have been able to depend on certain community businesses for their support of the scouting program. This year was no different.

In particular, we want to thank Lowe’s, Acme and Walmart, all of Lewes/Rehoboth, for allowing our scouts to set up their popcorn sale table in order to solicit customers for sale of popcorn. For three weekends in September, these businesses permitted the scouts to sell their popcorn at the entrances/exits to their stores. Because of their continued support, Cub Scout Pack 1 had another very successful year of fundraising.

In addition, Cub Scout Pack 1 would like to extend a special thanks to H&R Block located in the Midway Shopping Center.  H&R Block once again permitted the scouts to use their office for storage of inventory for more than a month.

More importantly, we want to extend a special thanks to all the people in the community who purchased popcorn from, or gave a donation to, Pack 1.  The funds we raised are used both at the national level and the local level to support the time-honored and recognized program of scouting.

More likely than not, the scouts you help today will be the leaders of tomorrow.  The scouting program for more than a century has been recognized as a distinguished program for the development of good citizens and future leaders.
