Cuvée Ray rosé garden opening to benefit Dewey artists May 23

May 20, 2019

Cuvée Ray Wine Bar & Restaurant at 236 Rehoboth Ave. in Rehoboth Beach is inviting members of the community to help transform its outdoor patio to the Rosé Garden at Cuvée Ray.

A charity event to benefit the Dewey Artist Collaboration will be held from 4 p.m. to sundown Thursday, May 23. For $5, an artist from the DAC will help participants design their very own rose which will be placed on the wall of roses in the rosé garden.

All participants will receive a free glass of rosé, courtesy of Bacchus Imports. Cuvée Ray will donate $5 to the DAC for each rose created.

“We wanted to create a really nice outdoor space where guests can just chill on a nice summer evening, and what better way to do this than raising money for a local cause,” said owner Ray Kurz. “While rosé wine will be featured at special pricing all summer long in the rosé garden, guests can of course enjoy any food or beverage they desire in the relaxing outdoor environment of our rosé garden.”

DAC representative Lynn Stewart said, “We are delighted to partner with Cuvée Ray and Bacchus Imports for this fun event and look forward to working with participants to create the Wall of Roses.”

The concept of creating a rosé garden was the brainchild of Cuvée Ray Beverage Manager and General Manager Rob Bagley, who worked closely with the DAC to organize this event.

According to Bagley, the DAC came up with the concept of having Cuvée Ray guests help bring the rosé garden to life by actually creating a beautiful artificial rose which will become a permanent part of a wall of roses, and a focal point of the rosé garden. “Rosé wine just says summer, and I can promise you we will have an amazing selection of rosés from around the world offered by the glass as part of our 170+ wines by the glass program,” said Bagley.

The rosé garden at Cuvée Ray will open every day at 5 p.m In addition to offering specially priced rosé wine all the time, guests can also enjoy happy hour pricing on food and other beverages from 5 to 7 p.m. every day.
