He is also survived by his four sisters: Robin Mears of Seaford, Sue Buckle (Wayne) of Salisbury, Md., Joyce Ami of Millsboro and Connie Atkinson of Millsboro. He is also survived by a brother: Ronald Short (Patricia), also of Millsboro; and sisters-in-law: Wanda Freedman and husband Paul of Chesapeake City, Md., Dianna Sears and husband Wayne of Seaford, Christina Johnson of Newark; and brothers-in-law: Paul Jeffrey Johnson and his wife Jackie of Virginia Beach, Va., Daniel "Danny" Johnson of Greenwood and Timothy Johnson of Felton. He also leaves behind his beloved mother-in-law: Rose Johnson of Seaford. In addition, he is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a special friend, "Bill," and his beloved feline friend Audie. Daniel was proud of his nephew, Greg Short, who currently serves as an assistant chief at the Millsboro Fire Company.

In honor of his last request, a Memorial Service is planned for Sunday, March 25, at 1 p.m., in the Millsboro Fire Station, 109 E. State St., Millsboro. Interment will be private.
