Darol L. Anderson, Townsends retiree

Darol L. Anderson, 89, of Georgetown, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2019, at home with his family at his side.

Darol was born Nov. 3, 1929, in LaCrosse, Wis., to John and Avis Anderson of Houston, Minn. He graduated from Houston High School in 1946. He was a staff sergeant in the U.S Air Force. He married Donna Jauken Feb. 19, 1956. He had a career with USDA, working most of that time at Townsends in Millsboro and retired after 33 years.

Darol was a loving husband, father and grandfather. His priority and happiness in life was to see his family happy and cared for. He loved visiting and especially hosting relatives. He liked music, bowling, fishing and reading. 

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Donna; his son David; sister Betty Ask; and sister Donna Shroeder.

He is survived by his son Danny and wife Sheila of Frankford; granddaughter Allison and companion Matt of Millsboro; grandson Brooks and wife Kate of Wilmington, N.C.; daughter-in-law Mary of Millsboro; and many nieces and nephews.

A  chapel service will be held Friday, June 21, at 11 a.m., at Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
