Just days before the start of Wimbledon, Lewes tennis coach Dave Marshall celebrated another championship coaching two of the world’s top doubles players.

Marshall, owner of Dave Marshall Tennis & Pickleball in Lewes, coaches Édouard Roger-Vasselin of France and Hugo Nys of Monaco. The duo captured the 2026 Eastbourne Open men’s doubles title with a 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 victory over Guido Andreozzi and Manuel Guinard.

The championship gives Roger-Vasselin and Nys valuable momentum heading into the year’s third grand slam tournament. After dropping the second set, the pair responded with poise and determination, winning a tightly contested match tiebreak to claim the Association of Tennis Professionals 250 grass-court title.

Marshall is a grand slam-winning and world champion coach, with his players earning grand slam titles, ATP Masters 1000 championships, ATP 500 titles, ATP Finals appearances, Olympic medals, Davis Cup success and the world No. 1 ranking. He has also coached leading professional pickleball players Megan Fudge and Ryler DeHeart, making him one of the few coaches to achieve success at the highest levels of both professional tennis and professional pickleball.

The Eastbourne title is the latest achievement in Marshall’s coaching career. Widely respected for his tactical expertise and player development, Marshall has spent decades coaching on the ATP Tour and has worked with many of the sport’s top professionals, including the Bryan brothers, Kaia Kanepi, Madison Brengle, Giuliana Olmos, Benoît Paire, Édouard Roger-Vasselin and Hugo Nys.
