David L. Collins, retired engineer

David L. Collins of Georgetown passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019, at his home.   He was born in Lewes, the son of L. Frances (Morris) Collins and the late Alvin L. Collins.

He graduated from Georgetown High School in 1966 and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War. 

He was an engineer for Delaware Electric Cooperative, retiring in 2003.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Joyce Collins; son Jeffrey Collins (Vicki); siblings, William O. Collins (Terri), Patricia Holden, Richard L. Collins (Renee) and Alvin L. Collins Jr. (Donna); two grandchildren, David S. Collins (Nicole) and Austin A. Collins; two great-grandchildren, Teagan Collins and Charlotte Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

Service and burial will be private.

Arrangements in the care of Short Funeral Services, Georgetown.
