Day of Wellness 5K held in Rehoboth to benefit Puerto Rico

Sen. Ernie Lopez, R-Lewes, a native of Puerto Rico, talked to the gathered crowd and racers about the situation following the hurricane. Event organizer Rehoboth Commissioner Kathy McGuiness and Rep. Pete Schwartzkopf, D-Rehoboth Beach, joined Lopez during the talk.

A 5K race to benefit Puerto Rico was held Oct. 22 on the Rehoboth Boardwalk. This event was a kickoff for a Day of Wellness in Rehoboth Beach. Wellness events included open houses, HIV screenings and jazz as some of the events happening all day.
Prior to the 5K, presented by the Greene Turtle, local officials spoke about the Puerto Rico hurricane relief efforts and presented proclamations to a local business. One hundred percent of the efforts will go to Youcaring.com/RickyMartin.
