Author Kelly Lidji will sign copies of books in her "Haunting Clarity" series and delight attendees with tales of the supernatural from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 11, at at Browseabout Books in Rehoboth Beach.
All seven books in Lidl's series are based on local haunted legends, including "Maggie, I Have Your Baby." The legend of Maggie’s Bridge in Woodland tells that the poor lost spirit of Maggie Bloxom is trapped in an endless search for her lost baby. Believers say those who stand on the bridge at midnight and call her will soon hear the sounds of a sobbing Maggie as she searches for her baby in the marsh. Readers can find out what brought Maggie to such a cruel fate and whether she can be freed from her torment.
Lidji said she crawled out of the fog-drenched woods of Lower Slower Delaware with a notebook in one hand and a deeply questionable relationship with ghosts in the other. She does not believe in writer’s block – only in spirits who refuse to cooperate.
