Delaware Humane to host pet vaccination and nail trimming clinic Sept. 22

September 19, 2019

The Delaware Humane Association will hold a special vaccination clinic from 1 to 3 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 22, at DHA’s Rehoboth Adoption Center in Midway Plaza. In addition to the low-fee vaccinations, Doggies at the Beach will offer a groomer for nail trims. All proceeds will benefit DHA’s Rehoboth Adoption Center.

The clinic is a first-come, first-served event beginning promptly at 1 p.m.

A full list of services provided and requirements can be found at www.delawarehumane.org; services will include feline and canine distemper and rabies vaccinations for $20 each, and Bordatella vaccinations for kennel cough for $15 each.

Vaccinations are for cats and dogs only. Animals as young as 6 weeks may receive a distemper vaccine, but animals must be 12 weeks or older to receive a rabies vaccine. Cats must be in hard plastic or cardboard carriers; dogs must be wearing a collar and leash. Retractable leashes are not permitted.

Physical exams are not available due to the large number of animals. If a dog requires a muzzle to be vaccinated, owners should bring a properly fitting muzzle to the clinic and put it on their own dog. Accepted forms of payment are cash and credit/debit cards. Attendees should bring a driver’s license or ID with their current name and address to expedite completion of paperwork.
