Delaware Humane partners with Petco

November 5, 2018

The Delaware Humane Association announced its recently formed partnership with the Petco store located across Route 1 from its adoption center. With assistance from DHA volunteers, Petco will house, feed, and care for two adoptable cats from the center. While DHA and Petco previously have held adoption days together, this is the first time the animals will be housed at Petco. The partnership provides a new avenue for DHA to reach into the community and present a few of its cats to a larger audience.

Meg Searcey, manager of the DHA Rehoboth adoption center, said, “We are tremendously grateful to Petco for its commitment to rescue, and we anticipate an increase in adoptions with this new venue. Our staff will be available to assist anyone interested in the cats housed at the Petco store. I hope potential adopters will also take the time visit our adoption center where we have 10 other adoptable cats, three of whom are survivors of the two hurricanes that hit South Carolina.”

In addition to the cats, the DHA adoption center currently is caring for seven dogs. Anyone interested in adopting a cat or dog may visit the DHA Rehoboth Adoption Center, 18675 Coastal Highway, Suite 8, Rehoboth Beach or visit the cats at Petco, 18578 Coastal Highway in the Tanger Outlets just across the highway.
